As a character in Matrix movie says “Do not try to bend the spoon. That’s impossible. Instead… only try to realize the truth. That there is no spoon. Then you’ll see, that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself”. What exactly the character is trying to convey is that once we realize the truth which is accepting certain things which may or may not have any sort of material existence, we see that it was our perspective and belief which was preventing us from doing certain things or taking important decisions.

Our mind is a prison built around walls of stress, depression, anxiety, fear, emotions, past events and most importantly if-I-say-so-what-will-people-think-of-me. We are trapped in such thick walls deprived of purity and freedom. You’all must have heard people saying around you, “That person thinks out of the box” or “whatever he does is out of the box” and with a bit more certainty I would say you too must have said these very words, I too said it many times. Am I right or am I right. But that’s because you consider living in a box(prison). You think that there is a box built around you in which you are contained and so for you when someone does a remarkable thing you say it’s out of the box.

think-outside-the-box

As the above-mentioned quote I would like to say “Try not to think out of the box, instead try to realize the truth that there is no box. Then you’ll see whatever you think will be out of the box”. This belief and realization will emancipate you from all those social walls that stop you from being free. Believing what has been a very part of our lives is surely onerous as we are continuously in an aura of such things it takes the time to repel.

Finally, you start believing, but in the course, you inadvertently become a nonconformist and sooner you are ogled by people behind the wall, who actually are afraid of you becoming free or thinking out of the box. They are filled with fear of someone getting ahead of them so they try to hook you up and pull you back to the prison. As for the society, free souls are rebels as they have the courage to shape things and make people relieve from this bondage. It’s the social dogma which hinders this process. Since the time our brain has started understanding these emotions we are veiled by layers of beliefs put on us by the society.

One more aspect which becomes a hurdle in this race is you get an inferiority complex as you start believing, widening your perception and thoughts. You often feel left out from the group, you consider yourself as an aberrant. But not to worry, I too felt the same way and I used to ask a question to myself “Am I abnormal?” as nine out of ten couldn’t relate to what I used to say and maybe at the end of day people considered me insane. After introspection a bit I drew a conclusion as to why these people were not able to relate to what I used to say, what I found out was the thinking of such people was abated by ever-increasing burden to think as per society wants us to.

So do not worry if you feel left out and if your thinking doesn’t abreast of with the crowd. It doesn’t have to. Erase all the lines drawn around and shall you paint a canvas beautiful and wide as horizons.
